    Welcome to Nestd ("we," "us," "our"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our platform and services. By creating an account or using Nestd, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use Nestd.

    1. Eligibility

    • You must be at least 18 years old.
    • Nestd is open to Northwestern University students and members of the Evanston community.
    • Students may enable a "private mode" to connect only with verified student accounts.

    2. Accounts

    • You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and secure.
    • You may not create false accounts or impersonate others.
    • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

    3. Listings and Transactions

    Furniture Only: Listings must be for furniture or home-related items. Any other categories of goods or services are not permitted.
    Listing Fees: Sellers pay a non-refundable listing fee when uploading items. Paying this fee does not guarantee that the item will be sold.
    Verification: After payment, Nestd reviews each listing to ensure that it includes sufficient information and quality photos. The verification process typically takes 1–2 hours, but may take up to 24 hours. If a listing is incomplete, the Nestd team will contact the seller for edits. Only approved listings are published on the Nestd platform. If the listing has not yet been published, the seller may contact the Nestd team to request a refund.
    Publication: We reserve the right to reject or remove listings that are unclear, misleading, incomplete, or otherwise not suitable for the Nestd community.
    User Responsibility: A price is published on the Nestd website for each listing but may be negotiated directly between buyers and sellers. Buyers and sellers are responsible for finalizing prices, pick-up, and delivery arrangements.
    Quality Disclaimer: We verify listings to the best of our ability, but Nestd is not responsible for disputes if the quality of an item does not meet user expectations.

    4. Payments

    • Listing fees are processed securely through Stripe at the time of upload.
    • Transactions between buyers and sellers (for the purchase of items) are conducted directly between them. Nestd does not process, collect, or transfer buyer-seller payments.
    • Nestd is not responsible for payment disputes between users.

    5. Safety and Conduct

    • Users must treat others respectfully and honestly.
    • Do not use Nestd for fraud, harassment, or illegal activities.
    • Meet in safe, public locations whenever possible for exchanges.
    • Nestd is not liable for any accidents, thefts, or disputes during in-person exchanges.

    6. Privacy

    Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy [link] to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

    7. Limitation of Liability

    • Nestd provides a platform for connecting buyers and sellers but is not a party to any transaction between them.
    • Nestd does not guarantee that items will sell, even after payment of listing fees.
    • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nestd disclaims all warranties and liability for damages, injuries, or losses arising from use of the platform.

    8. Termination

    • We may suspend or terminate your account or remove listings if you violate these Terms, post prohibited items, or if necessary for community safety.
    • You may delete your account at any time.

    9. Changes to These Terms

    We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with the "last updated" date. Continued use of Nestd means you accept the revised Terms.
